China and Peru on Thursday marked 35 years of diplomatic ties with a reception in Beijing.
Li Xiaolin, vice president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said the two countries had a long history of friendship despite the distance between them.
High-level exchanges were frequent with Peruvian President visiting China in June last year.
China and Peru supported each other and cooperated in international and regional affairs.
In 2005, the bilateral trade volume has reached 2.89 billion US dollars, an increase of 48.5 percent from the previous year.
