A U.S. marine has been killed in a non-hostile action in Iraq's western Anbar province, the U.S. military said on Sunday.
"One Marine assigned to Regimental Combat Team 7 died from non- hostile causes Saturday while operating in Anbar Province," the military said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, the military said that a U.S. soldier was killed on Saturday when insurgents attacked his patrol with small- arms in western Baghdad.
Since the U.S.-led war in Iraq broke out in March 2003, about 2, 820 U.S. soldiers have been killed in the country, according to media tally.
