Vietnamese archeologists have recently unearthed many objects dated back some 2,700 years ago, and 7,085 others aged around 2,500 years in the central region, local newspaper Youth reported Monday.

The archeologists of the Vietnam Archeology Institute found the 7,085 antiques, including pieces of processed stone, pottery wares, knives, earrings and plumb bobs, and some bronze items in Cam Thuy district, Thanh Hoa province. They also discovered many 2,700-year- old stone items, consisting of hoes, axes and graters, and pottery wares.

The objects belong to a period prior to the Dong Son Culture, an important prehistoric culture of Indochina, which is named for a village in northern Vietnam where many of its remains have been found.
