A Palestinian woman blew herself up among a group of Israeli soldiers in northern Gaza Strip Monday afternoon, wounding at least one soldier, Palestinian security sources and witnesses said.
The woman wearing a scarf blew herself up when she approached to a group of Israeli soldiers who were operating in the town of Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza Strip.
The Saraya al-Quds, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad (Holy War), claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing attack.
On Monday, three Palestinians -- two Hamas militants and one schoolboy, were killed and several others injured by Israeli gunfire and missiles.
The Israeli army has been operating in northern Gaza Strip since last Wednesday. So far, at least 53 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli offensive.
