Li Meng, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top advisory body, on Thursday met with a 100-strong Vietnamese youth delegation in Beijing.

Li said he hoped the young people in China and Vietnam would carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries.

Li also briefed the delegation on China's economic development and foreign policy.

The delegation was led by Doan Van Thai, secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Vietnam.

The delegation also attended the 7th Sino-Vietnamese Youth Friendship Meeting.

The delegation's visit was part of the ongoing youth exchange programs between China and Vietnam.
