Syrian leaders expressed on Thursday support to Sudan's effort for dealing with the Darfur issue, the official SANA news agency reported.
"Syria support Sudan's unity and sovereignty, rejecting any attempt to internationalize its issues," Shara was quoted as saying.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his deputy Farouk al-Shara made the remarks respectively while meeting with visiting Sudanese Vice President Ali Osman Mohammed Taha.
The two sides discussed recent developments in the region, particularly in the Palestinian territories and Iraq, and means to enhance bilateral relations in all fields.
Taha arrived in Damascus on Wednesday on a three-day official visit to Syria to attend the Syrian-Sudanese Higher Committee meetings.
