Israeli security forces on Friday raised the level of alert to its highest "Emergency Level", a police officer told Xinhua.
Police Inspector Micky Rossenfeld said that thousands of policemen were posted in heavily populated areas across the country and border policemen were set to increase their activities in areas close to the Green Line which separates Israel and the Palestinian territories.
Insp.-Gen. Moshe Karadi had ordered a general mobilization in all departments of Israel Police, Rossenfeld said.
"About 7,000 policemen are deployed in Jerusalem early Friday morning, of which 3,000 are set to man the Gay Pride event in Jerusalem's Givat Ram University campus," he added.
On the main road leading to crowded places in Jerusalem, more blocks are set up and drivers are strictly checked before passing.
Meanwhile, 2,500 policemen are deployed in east Jerusalem, the Old City and around the Temple Mount out of concern that Palestinians were planning to riot following the Israeli army's deadly artillery shelling in Beit Hanun on Wednesday.
It was reported that Israeli security services had received more than 80 terror-attack warnings. Most of them were of a general nature but approximately one quarter of them were more specific.
Earlier, Israel Defense Forces arrested 27 Palestinian militants suspected of involving in terror activities throughout the West Bank.
IDF spokeswoman confirmed to Xinhua that the 27 operatives, which are subjected to Fatah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and others were taken in Hebron, Ramallah, Bethlehem, Qalqilya and Jenin.
As a result, IDF imposed full closure on the West Bank and the Gaza Stripe early Friday morning on warnings of terror plots nationwide.
"The closure on the West Bank and the Gaza Stripe will be lifted according to security assessment," the spokeswoman added.
