The 21 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member economies began their annual APEC forum in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on Sunday.

This year's APEC meetings are held under the theme of "Towards a Dynamic Community for Sustainable Development and Prosperity," as initiated by current chair Vietnam.

The theme is supported by the following sub-themes:

Enhance Trade and Investment with the Busan Roadmap and the Doha Development Agenda.

Strengthen Economic and Technical Cooperation for Gap Bridging and Sustainable Development.

Improve Secure and Favorable Business Environment.

Promote Community Linkages.
