HK official to attend APEC Ministerial Meeting in VietnamThe Hong Kong Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology Joseph W.P. Wong will leave Hong Kong on Nov. 14 for a five-day visit to Hanoi of Vietnam, according to the Hong Kong government website on Monday. During his trip, Wong will attend the 18th Ministerial Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) on Nov. 15 and 16. Ministers will exchange views on measures to strengthen the Multilateral Trading System, and issues on Regional Trade Agreements and Free Trade Agreements at the ministerial meetings. Other major topics of discussion will include trade facilitation, counter-terrorism, APEC Reform, Intellectual Property Rights, and anti-corruption. Wong will also take the opportunity to meet his ministerial counterparts to discuss bilateral and multilateral issues. While in Hanoi, Wong will host a reception for business leaders from Hong Kong in which Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang will also attend. Wong will also give support to the Chief Executive for his APEC Economic Leaders' Retreat meetings on Nov. 18 and 19, and attend the APEC CEO Summit on Nov. 17.
