The Algerian government on Monday offered emergency humanitarian assistance to Palestine in the wake of a bloody shelling by the Israel military on Palestinian civilians.
The stuff consisted of 37 tons of food and medicine and 2,000 blankets, according to the Algerie Presse Service.
Djamal Ould Abbes, Algeria's minister of employment and national solidarity, said the assistance, mostly bound for the northern Gaza region that was under Israeli shelling, demonstrated Algeria's concern about the hardship of the Palestinian people.
Israeli artillery bombings struck the town of Beit Hanoun last Wednesday, killing 18 Palestinians, mainly women and children.
