font size

China said on Thursday that it welcomed all countries and international organizations to cooperate with African countries.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Jiang Yu made the remarks in a regular press conference when asked about what level of cooperation there would be between China and other members of the international community in promoting the development of Africa,

following the recent China-Africa cooperation forum in Beijing.

"China is willing to work together with other members of the international community in an open and constructive manner to promote peace and development in Africa," Jiang said.

Jiang emphasized that the development of Africa relies mainly on the African countries themselves and the international community should try to create a favorable environment for their development.

Jiang pointed out that the China-Africa cooperation was an important part of international efforts to promote development andcontribute to the economic and social progress, and national stability, of Africa.

"China will never impose its ideology, values and ways of development on other countries, in particular on the African countries," she said. "China respects the right of African countries to choose their own way of development," Jiang noted.

"China-Africa cooperation is not targeted at any other third party and will not threaten any other country's interests," Jiang added. Enditem
