Chinese President Hu Jintao met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Saturday in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi to exchange views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern.

The Chinese and Japanese leaders met on the sidelines of the 14th Economic Leaders' Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

The meeting between Hu and Abe is their second since Abe took office in September this year. Their first meeting was in early October when Abe visited China.
