Baby with "mermaid syndrome" waits for operations

A doctor makes a medical check-up for a baby who was born with her legs joined together at the Children's Hospital in south China's Hunan Province Nov. 21, 2006. The baby, who had a rare congenital defect known as "mermaid syndrome", was sent to the hospital on Nov. 12, three days after her birth. Doctors are preparing to make operations to part her legs.
