Mongolian PM arrives in Beijing for China visit

Mongolian Prime Minister Miegombyn Enkhbold arrived here on Wednesday, kicking off his six-day official visit to China.

As guest of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Enkhbold is scheduled to meet the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee Chairman Wu Bangguo and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee Chairman Jia Qinglin. He will also hold talks with Wen in Beijing.

In addition to Beijing, Enkhbold will visit Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

China and Mongolia established a good-neighborly partnership of mutual trust in 2003 when Chinese President Hu Jintao paid a state visit to Mongolia.

It is the first time for Enkhbold to visit China since he took office as Mongolian Prime Minister in January this year.

Before heading for China, Enkhbold said on Tuesday that Mongolia is ready to further cooperation with China. He believed his visit could enhance bilateral relations and cooperation.

Trade between China and Mongolia hit 1.13 billion U.S. dollars in the first nine months of 2006, up by 88.8 percent over the same period last year.
