China's top advisor calls for more quality advice to leadership
font size

China's top advisor Jia Qinglin urged the country's political consultants to come up with more quality advice and ideas to help the state and Communist Party leaders make polices on building a harmonious society.

Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), on Wednesday addressed a CPPCC workshop, urging reforms to the advisory system.

"To improve the quality of advice, we have to focus on the issues of greatest public concern and necessity," Jia said, calling for CPPCC members to do more research and improve efficiency.

Advisors should be more open-minded and work harder as the CPC focuses on the agenda of building a harmonious society, setting higher goals for the CPPCC, he said.

Over the decades, the CPPCC had made critical contributions to the country's development by submitting useful advice to the leadership, Jia said, adding the tradition should be continued.
