Poland will seek the extradition of spy suspect Sergei M. from Lithuania, the Polish National Public Prosecutor's office said on Tuesday.
Sergei M., a Belarussian citizen, was arrested Saturday and kept in a Vilnius prison. He is suspected of spying against Poland, the PAP news agency quoted Lithuanian official as saying.
PAP quoted an official of the Lithuanian General Public Prosecutor's Office as saying in Vilnius that Segei M. has been put under arrest for one month.
"We expect the Polish extradition request to be lodged during this time," he said.
The extradition procedure can take about six weeks, Polish legal sources said.
