Indian Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu on Wednesday in his first visit to Nepal since he took over the charge at the Ministry of External Affairs, the local Nepal news website reported on Wednesday.

Menon, who is going to be the most senior Indian official to be visiting the country since the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, foreign minister, other ministers, officials and political leaders during his three-day stay in Kathmandu.

Pankaj Saran, the chief of Nepal-Bhutan desk at the South Block (Indian Ministry for external affairs), is accompanying Menon.
