Vietnam's garment export rises in 11 months

Vietnam is estimated to reap textile and garment export turnovers of 5.4 billion U.S. dollars in the first 11 months of this year, up from more than 4.3 billion dollars in the same period last year.

In November alone, the country is set to earn some 500 million dollars from shipping abroad the products, according to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association on Wednesday.

After joining the World Trade Organization, Vietnam is expected to export more garments and textiles, especially to the United States, which is the biggest market of Vietnamese textiles and garments, and attract more foreign investors in the domestic apparel industry, the association said.

Vietnam is expected to gain some 5.8 billion dollars from exporting garments and textiles, mainly to the United States, the European Union and Japan, this year, up from 4.8 billion dollars last year, the association said.
