font size

At least seven persons were killed and dozen others were injured when a minibus met with an accident at Deurali area in western Bardiya district, some 600 km west of Kathmandu, on Thursday afternoon, local nepalnews online reported.

The minibus heading toward mid-western Surkhet district from far western Nepalgunj town skidded off the road and plunged into a ravine, killing seven persons on the spot, according to the report.

Excessive speed of the bus has been attributed as reason behind the accident.

The ill-fated bus was carrying 19 passengers.

The injured passengers have been taken to Nepalgunj for treatment. The condition of some of them is critical, according to the report.
