Nguyen Tien Minh should be granted the MVP award on Thursday's court as the Vietnamese won over two seeded shuttlers in the men's team competition at the Doha Asian Games.

Although Vietnam lost to South Korea and Thailand successively, 23-year-old Nguyen grabbed two points for the noteless team.

In the morning, Nguyen shocked the South Korean team by defeating their first single Lee Hyun Il 16-21, 21-14 and 21-12. Lee was the runner-up in the men's singles at 2002 Busan Asian Games and is the fourth seed in the singles this time.
