S. Korea, DPRK to march together at Doha Asiad
font size

South Korea and DPR Korea will march together at the opening ceremony of the Doha Asian Games this evening, a South Korean Olympic Committee official confirmed, hours before the ceremony.

However, both sides were short of an agreement for a unified team for the 2008 Olympic Games, the official said after their two- day meeting Friday.

The two teams will march under a blue-and-white unification flag in the folk song "Arirang" instead of a national anthem, South Korean media said.

They have marched together seven times since the Sydney Olympics in 2000, but have never fielded a unified team for an Olympics.

The Asian Games will run from December 1-15.
