Israel had violated a fragile ceasefire for 70 times since it came into effect last Sunday, said a Palestinian report on Saturday.

However, most of the breaches had taken place in West Bank as Israel announced the truce was only applied to Gaza Strip which witnesses months of offensive, according to the report by Palestine Today News Network, a media organization close to the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movement.

According to the report, the Israeli violations varied between assassinations and arrestment against tens of activists in West Bank.

The Israeli actions in West Bank also include the demolition of several houses and installment "under the pretext of not having license."

What's more, "the Israeli artillery shelling in northern Gaza Strip continued," despite the state of calmness the two sides had announced and accepted, said the report.

On Saturday morning, an Israeli navy boat fired at Palestinian fishing vessels in the southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian security sources said.

The report also mentioned Palestinian violations, saying the military wings of Hamas, Fatah and the Islamic Jihad have launched rockets into Israel moments after the truce began.

On Sunday, following months of Israeli military operations, Israel and the Palestinians agreed on a ceasefire under it Israel withdrew forces from Gaza in exchange for stopping home-made rocket attacks against Israel.

Though the ceasefire has gone into effect, more than one Palestinian faction has threatened that Gaza ceasefire would collapse if it was not extended to the West Bank.

However, Israeli Defense Minister Amir Peretz had said there was no ceasefire in the West Bank.
