A Hamas lawmaker said on Sunday the door was still open to resume talks over forming a Palestinian unity government.
"There is no way but the talks, and I see there is a chance to sit and resume discussions on forming the government," lawmaker Ayman Daraghma told Voice of Palestine radio.
After months of talks, the executive committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) announced on Friday the suspension of talks between Hamas and Fatah on the unity government, accusing Hamas of not doing enough to push the talks.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine has called on the PLO not to be a part beside Hamas or Fatah in the talks. The PLO comprises all factions except the two Islamic movements of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad (Holy War).
Daraghma of Hamas has also criticized the PLO. "I was hoping the stance of the executive committee be gathering all parties on one table."
The talks have stopped at the distribution of major portfolios between Hamas and Fatah and the political agenda of the new government.
Hamas calls for the Prisoners' Document of National Accordance to be the basis of the platform.
