China's top legislator Wu Bangguo met in Hong Kong Sunday with Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR).
Wu, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, heard Ho's report on Macao's recent situation and spoke highly of the work of Ho and the MSAR government.
Wu said he hoped the MSAR government would unite people of all walks of life and make concerted efforts to promote Macao's economic and social development in an all-around, coordinated and sustained manner.
Present at the meeting was Liao Hui, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council.
