Defending champion of Vietnam's V-League 2006, Gach Dong Tam Long An, defeated their compatriots Binh Dinh 3-1 with all the goals scored after the break at the Binh Duong Television Soccer Cup 2006 on Sunday.

Binh Dinh, deploying defense tactics, succeeded in keeping the first half of the match goalless. Nine minutes after the break, a Gach Dong Tam Long An striker opened the score with a header. His teammates extended the goal gap to 2-0 in the 74th minutes and to 3-0 in the 77th minute with a strong header and a quick shot, respectively.

Binh Dinh scored its first goal and also the last one of the game in injury time.

On Saturday, Vietnam's Binh Duong crushed their compatriots Da Nang 4-1, winning the first berth at semifinals. Meanwhile, Singapore's Woodlands Wellington lost to South Korea's Busan 2-1, becoming the first club having to leave the soccer cup.

A total of seven soccer teams, including four from Vietnam and three from foreign countries, are divided into two groups. Vietnam 's Da Nang, Vietnam's Binh Duong, Busan and Woodlands Wellington are in Group A, while Group B includes China's Wuhan, Binh Dinh, and Gach Dong Tam Long An.

The top two finishers of each group qualify for the semifinals and the final match is scheduled on Dec. 9.
