A senior Islamic Jihad (Holy War) militant said on Monday that his group had the right to carry out suicide bombings in Israel whenever necessary.
Walid al-Obaidi, the commander of the Islamic Jihad's al-Quds Brigades in the West Bank, made the remark in response to Israeli reports that the Israeli army arrested two Islamic Jihad militants who were on their way to an area in Israel to blow themselves up.
"The allegation came as part of psychological war that occupation troops conduct against our people and resistance," said al-Obaidi, also known as Abu al-Qasam.
As an Israeli-Palestinian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is not extended to the West Bank, al-Obaidi urged Gaza militants to "respond to Israeli violations of calmness and go back to the track of resistance."
He also called on militants not to abide by any ceasefire unless it covers the West Bank, saying that the Palestinian territories were one part that can not be divided.
"The retaliation of al-Quds Brigades will not delay and will be painful and terrible," the commander said.
