U.S. President George W. Bush will meet with British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Thursday, one day after he receives the report of the Iraq Study Group, the White House said on Monday.
"The president looks forward to continuing discussions with the prime minister on strengthening democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan, advancing peace and security in the Middle East, preventing Iran from obtaining the means to build nuclear weapons, ending the genocide in Darfur, and promoting free and fair trade," the White House said in a statement.
Blair has been a staunch ally of Bush in the Iraq war.
The Iraqi Study Group, composed of prominent figures from both the Republicans and Democrats, is to issue its report on Iraq on Wednesday and is expected to put forward its recommendations in the report.
U.S. national security adviser Stephen Hadley has said that Bush will make "significant" changes to the Iraq policy after going through the recommendations of the Iraq Study Group.
