The Lebanese cabinet has called for dialogue as the only mean to end the ongoing political turmoil, local New TV reported on Tuesday.
The cabinet, in a press release delivered by Lebanese Information Minister Ghazi Aridi on late Monday, urged all sides to observe calm to avoid any security complications.
The release noted that the death of a citizen, Ahmed Ali Mahmoud, during confrontations between parliamentary majority and opposition allies on Sunday was a national loss.
Premier Fouad Seniora had informed the cabinet about proposals made by delegates to end the dilemma, it noted, adding that communication between leading Lebanese figures was continuous.
Last Friday, the opposition took to the streets in a bid to topple the government after the resignation of six ministers last month.
The ministers resigned after the country's leaders failed to reach an agreement on formation of a national unity government.
