8 killed in road accident in southeastern Bangladesh

At least eight people were killed and about 40 others injured when two passengers buses collided head-on in southeastern Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar district Thursday.

Police said the tragic mishap took place at about 8:30 a.m. (02: 30 GMT) at Harbang on Cox's Bazar-Chittagong highway when a Chittagong-bound coach from tourist resort of Cox's Bazar rammed into another bus coming from Chittagong.

The accident left six dead on the spot while two others died on the way to hospital.

Six of the deceased have been identified. All the injured were admitted to hospital.
