Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan on Friday met with the visiting Governor of Massachusetts of the United States Willard Romney.

Tang said China and the United States, as stakeholders and constructive cooperation partners, should step up dialogue, consultation and cooperation on various fields, and properly settle their disputes, so as to boost bilateral relations.

Tang said he hoped China and Massachusetts would make new progresses on wide-ranging fields of exchange and cooperation.

Massachusetts would like to expand mutually-beneficial cooperation with China, said Romney, who was paying his first visit to Beijing.

On Friday morning, Romney gave a speech in China's prestigious Tsinghua University.

Romney was here as guest of Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs.
