Two U.S. soldiers killed in roadside bomb blast

Two American soldiers were killed and two others were wounded by a roadside bomb during a " dismounted patrol" in south of Baghdad, the U.S. military said in a statement on Saturday.

The soldiers, assigned to Multi - National Division - Baghdad, were responding to a possible improvised explosive device (IED) on Thursday in south of the city, when the blast took place, the statement said.

The latest deaths brought to 34 the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq since the beginning of December.

Over 2,910 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the U.S. -led war broke out in March 2003, according to media count.
