An American marine was killed during a military operation in Iraq's western Anbar province, the U.S. military said on Saturday.
The marine, assigned to Regimental Combat Team 5, died of wounds sustained due to "enemy action" on Thursday, the military said in a statement.
Earlier, the military said two American soldiers were killed and two others were wounded by a roadside bomb during a " dismounted patrol" in south of Baghdad on Thursday.
The latest deaths brought to 35 the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq since the beginning of December.
Over 2,910 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the U.S. -led war broke out in March 2003, according to media count.
