A spokesman of the ruling Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) denied on Sunday reports that Saudi Arabia has asked the movement to cut relations with Iran.
Fawzi Barhoom said that its movement did not receive such demand, underlining that Hamas is not subject to anyone.
"Our relation with Saudi Arabia is very strong and we have wide Arabic and Islamic strength," Barhoom told reporters.
The spokesman made the remarks in response to Israeli reports that the Muslim Brothers, the spiritual body of Sunni Muslims and Saudi Arabia were not satisfied with the mounting relation between the Hamas-led Palestinian government and Iran.
Meanwhile, Palestinian sources said Saudi Arabia has voiced rejection to receive Prime Minister Ismail Haneya, who is on a regional tour.
The sources attributed the Saudi rejection to Haneya's previous visits to Iran.
Haneya is on his first tour abroad since he took office in March in a bid to rally support for the Palestinian cause and break up siege imposed by the West and Israel.
