Venezuela's National Assembly leader Cilia Flores on Friday in Caracas met Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Flores spoke highly of relations with China, expecting the two countries' lawmakers to enhance their exchanges and the two countries to steadily expand their cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture and science and technology.

For his part, Wang said it was in the interests of both countries to consolidate and further their friendly and cooperative ties.

The CPC and the Chinese government are willing to work with their Venezuelan counterparts for an all-round, in-depth development in bilateral relations, the Chinese official said.

Wang left Beijing on Wednesday for a goodwill visit to Brazil, Venezuela and Mexico.
