Construction of the Television Cultural Center (TVCC), which will be used to broadcast the 2008 Beijing Olympics, was completed on Friday, the Beijing News reported.
The 159-meter high TVCC, located on the east third ring road in Beijing's Chaoyang District, is part of the new headquarters of China Central Television (CCTV).
The decoration work and installation of equipment will begin early next year and are expected to be completed by Dec. 18, 2007.
Together with CCTV's old headquarters and the Olympic Center, the TVCC will be used to broadcast the Olympics in 2008.
The TVCC will also receive tourists from all over the world during the 2008 Olympics as there is a five-star hotel with 300 suites inside the building.
The CCTV headquarters has another building, the Main Building, which at 234 meters will be 20 meters taller than the Jing Guang Center and Beijing's tallest building.
The new CCTV headquarters, the National Swimming Center, Beijing Capital Airport and the Shanghai World Financial Center were listed as wonders of modern Chinese Architecture by US-based Business Week last year.
