Vietnam's Trade Ministry has eyed export revenues of 47.54 billion U.S. dollars this year, higher than the target set by the country's top legislature and government, the local newspaper Vietnam Economic Times reported Thursday.
The National Assembly of Vietnam, the country's highest legislative body, and the government have recently eyed export revenues of 46.5 billion dollars this year, up from 39.6 billion last year. However, the ministry said the figure should be 47.54 billion dollars, including nearly 8.89 billion dollars from exportation of farm products and 19.12 billion dollars from that of industrial items.
According to the ministry, in 2007, Vietnam could earn 3.75 billion dollars from exporting seafood, 1.4 billion dollars from rice, 1.15 billion dollars from coffee, 1.37 billion dollars from rubber, 300 million dollars from fruits and vegetables, 7.9 billion dollars from crude oil, 450 million dollars from coal, 7. 12 billion dollars from garments and textiles, 4.1 billion dollars from footwear, 2.45 billion dollars from electronics and computer parts, 2.6 billion dollars from woodwork, and 700 million dollars from handicrafts.
Vietnam is estimated to export goods worth 9.75 billion dollars to the United States, 8.99 billion dollars to Europe, 7.8 billion dollars to members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ( ASEAN), 6.09 billion dollars to Japan and 3.95 billion dollars to China, said the ministry.
