Haneya to return to Gaza from Mecca without plan to visit JordanThe Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) led Palestinian government has confirmed on Wednesday that Prime Minister Ismail Haneya would return to Gaza from Mecca on Thursday. A special Saudi plane will carry out Haneya and a high governmental delegation from Saudi Arabia to Egypt Thursday as Haneya ended his pilgrimage in Mecca. Mohammed al-Madhoun, chief of Haneya's office, told reporters that no agreement had been reached concerning the visit of Haneya to Jordan. Asked about reports that the visit had been canceled, al- Madhoun said: "these reports are unconfirmed." Al-Madhoun added, however, "the delaying of agreement on Haneya 's visit to Jordan doesn't mean the visit has been canceled." Earlier last week, Jordan offered to host talks between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Haneya after the struggle between the two rivals has widened. Meanwhile, al-Madhoun confirmed that Haneya will embark his third regional tour to Kuwait next week. Palestinian Information Minister Yousef Rezqa of Hamas accused local media of trying to hamper Haneya's visit to Kuwait by "implicating Hamas in the controversy over the execution of Saddam Hussein." "Hamas' stance of the Iraqi invasion to Kuwait was clear and Hamas has rejected it," Rezqa added. Source: Xinhua |
