The Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) on Friday said it can improve relations with the United States if the latter respect DPRK's sovereignty and abdondon hostile policy agianst it.
In an article carried out by the cabinet newspaper Minju Jonson, DPRK said thinking and acting independently are the basic principle of DPRK's foreign policy.
DPRK blamed the United States for adopting hostile polices and staging military exercise agianst it.
"That (hostile policy and military exercises) has detoriorated situation in Korean Peninsula," said the newspaper.
"We oppose any actions and ambitons that want to infringe our country's sovereignty and intervene in our interior matter," the newspaper said, adding that "DPRK always manipulated policies and take actions based on ourselves."
The newspaper said that DPRK need peaceful enviorment and had a will to develop friendship with all countries through the world on basis of mutual respecting and independence.
"Even for those countries which takes hostile policy against us, DPRK also can improve relations with them if they abandon past hostility," it added.
As a precondition of resolving nuclear issues, DPRK has urged the United States to abandon its hostile policy against Pyongyang for a long time.
