Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will attend the 12th ASEAN Summit and related summits on Jan. 12-15 in Cebu, the Philippines, Malaysian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
Besides the ASEAN Summit, Badawi is also scheduled to attend some sideline summits, such as the third Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia- Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Summit, and the second Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Summit, the ministry said in a press release.
The Malaysian prime minister will join other ASEAN leaders in Cebu to discuss follow-up action on all the decisions of the 11th ASEAN Summit held here in December 2005.
The Cebu Summit was originally scheduled to take place on Dec. 11-13 last year, but postponed due to Typhoon Utor, according to the ministry.
