Israeli troops moved into Gaza Strip with tanks, armoured vehicles and a bulldozer on Friday, in a response to home-made rockets fired by Palestinian militants into southern Israel, Palestinian sources said.
"Several Israeli tanks, armoured vehicles and one bulldozer moved into an area east of the Jabaliya refugee camp after two rockets were fired from the area," the sources said.
It is the first time that Israeli troops moved into Gaza since Israel and Palestinian militant factions agreed to a ceasefire at the strip on November 26 last year.
The Israeli army said the Palestinian militants fired three rockets into southern Israel on Friday, without causing any damage or casualties.
A total of some 100 projectiles have been fired since the ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian militant factions in November last year.
The Palestinian militant factions want to extend the ceasefire to the West Bank, but Israel had refused.
