Two alleged kidnappers were arrested in Haiti during a raid by United Nations (UN) peacekeepers and local police on early Friday, according to news from Port-Au-Prince, capital of Haiti.
No shots were fired during the raid on the Cite Soleil slum, the UN mission said in a statement.
The slum houses well-armed gangs blamed for several kidnapping and shooting, said the statement.
One of the two arrested was allegedly responsible for the killing of two Jordanian peacekeepers on Nov. 11, it said.
The UN mission has announced plans to boost the security in the capital of the Caribbean country.
The 8,000-strong UN force has suffered 14 casualties since it arrived in Haiti in July 2004 amid chaos after President Jean-Bertrand Aristide was ousted.
