DPRK accuses U.S. of practising air strike against it
font size

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Saturday accused the United States of launching an air exercise simulating the bombing of major targets in the northern part of the Korean Peninsula.

The DPRK said the action reflected Washington's ambition of igniting a nuclear war on the peninsula.

The United States carried out the air exercise over South Korea on Friday, using B-52 strategic bombers launched from Guam, the DPRK's official news agency KCNA said, citing a military source.

The strategic bombers simulated attacks on major targets in the DPRK, said the news agency.

"The exercise staged by the U.S. imperialists ... clearly indicates that they are set to ignite an adventurous nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula," it added.

The DPRK has frequently accused the United States of adopting hostile polices and staging military exercises against it.
