Arab League (AL) Secretary General Amr Moussa on Monday expressed his concern over the ongoing Palestinian infighting and described it as "major disaster" for the Palestine cause, Egypt's official MENA news agency reported.
The AL chief was quoted as saying that he was "shocked of what is taking place in the Palestinian territories."
Moussa noted that the Palestinians are not in need of lessons or advice as they are well aware of the impact of what is going on in the territories on their cause and Arab support.
He urged prudent persons among the Palestinian factions to intervene to put an end to such disastrous events, according to MENA.
An ongoing conflict between the two rival Palestinian movements, Fatah and Hamas, expanded to and escalated in several West Bank areas on Monday while the two sides were trading accusations through local mass media.
Last week, the Gaza Strip witnessed intensive armed clashes between militants belong to both movements, where more than 10 Palestinians were killed and over 50 others wounded.
