Iran had arrested a "spy" within the parliament's research center, who was accused of passing the country's nuclear secrets to an outlawed opposition group, local media reported on Tuesday.
The unidentified man had given "classified information, including a bulletin on nuclear activities to the Monafeqin (hypocrites)," the state radio said, referring to the banned opposition group of People's Mujahedeen.
Ahmed Tavakoli, a senior Iranian lawmaker who heads the parliament's research center, also told Iran's Fars news agency that the man, who had worked for the center since 2001, was arrested with the cooperation of the Intelligence Ministry.
The trial of the arrested would start soon, Tavakoli said, without giving further details.
The People's Mujahedeen has frequently made accusations about Iran's nuclear activities, citing what it says insider information.
In 2002, it revealed the existence of Iran's uranium enrichment site at Natanz and a heavy water reactor project at Arak.
