A U.S. soldier was killed in combat operation in Iraq's eastern province of Diyala, the U.S. military said on Wednesday.
A soldier assigned to 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, died Tuesday of wounds sustained during combat operations in Diyala province, the U.S. military said in a statement.
Up to 3,015 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the U. S.-led invasion in March 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
