Four people killed in suicide attack in northern IraqFour people were killed and 12 others wounded in a suicide bomb attack on a popular market in center of the town of Tel Afer west of the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Wednesday, the town governor said. "We have a report that four people were killed and about 12 others wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself up in the crowded market in the town," Governor Najam Abdullah al-Juboury told Xinhua by telephone. Earlier, al-Juboury said that a suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt blew himself up in a crowded popular market and that parts of human bodies and pond of blood were seen at the scene. Meanwhile, al-Juboury himself survived a suicide car bomb attack when a suicide bomber in an explosive-laden car struck his car while he was controlling the work of a gas station in center of Tel Afer town, some 430 km north of Baghdad. "I was not in my car which was totally destroyed and one of my bodyguards was wounded," al-Juboury said. Elsewhere, a car parked near the government building of Kirkuk City, some 250 km north of Baghdad, detonated and damaged several nearby cars and shops without causing casualty, a local police source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
