Tens of thousands of Fatah supporters Thursday rallied in the West Bank city of Ramallah to commemorate the 42 anniversary of Fatah movement.
Chanting slogans and waving Fatah symbolizing yellow flags, Fatah supporters gathered at al-Muqata'a, the official headquarters of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), to mark the anniversary of the movement led by President Mahmoud Abbas.
Fatah movement, the main faction in Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), was established in Jan. 1, 1965 and has led the Palestinian independence course for the past 42 years.
"The oath of Fatah movement hasn't changed, the movement would continue struggle and lead the Palestinian people towards liberation and independence," said Hussein al-Sheilkh, a senior Fatah movement leader in the West Bank.
He also pledged Fatah's obligation to maintain Palestinian unity by all means, adding that Fatah's ultimate goal is an independent Palestine with capital of east Jerusalem.
