Vietnamese PM to attend WEF this monthVietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting 2007 from Jan. 25-8 in Switzerland, a local spokesman announced on Thursday. At the meeting, Dung is scheduled to meet and have dialogue with leaders of some of the world's leading economic groups, and have some bilateral meetings, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Dung said at a regular press briefing. The WEF, on the occasion of the 40th founding anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), will hold a special plenary session on ASEAN with the participation of Dung, Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, and Pilipino President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. The meeting's theme is "The Shifting Power Equation," and its four sub-themes are new drivers, the need for fresh mandates; identity, community and networks; and leading in a connected world. The WEF is one of the most important and prestigious forum in the world, which attracts the participation of leaders from many countries, international organizations and multinational companies, the spokesman said.
