A special meeting of Nepali Council of Ministers on Sunday ratified the interim constitution which is slated to be promulgated by the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) Monday.
The meeting was held at Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala's official residence at Baluwatar in Kathmandu Sunday morning.
The approved interim statute would be sent to the House of Representatives for discussion in Sunday's session of the HoR in the afternoon.
As per the agreement between the ruling Seven Party Alliance and the Communist Party of Nepal (formerly known as guerrilla), the interim constitution will be promulgated through the HoR on Jan 15.
Likewise, the interim legislature -- expected to be set up immediately after the promulgation of constitution -- will pronounce the final ratification of the statute and then, the interim statute will formally come into effect in the country.
