Visiting Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Seniora on Monday hailed his fund-raising visit to Kuwait as "very successful," Kuwait's official KUNA news agency reported.
Prior to his departure, Seniora said that during his two-day visit, he discussed with Kuwaiti leaders the emirate's support to Lebanon during the coming Paris-III meeting at the end of this month.
Paris-III, a conference to carry out an assessment of the assistance to Lebanon, has gained support from the European Union, the United States and the United Nations.
Seniora asserted his government's adherence to economic reforms, saying "we strive through the conference to find suitable solutions to economic and financial reforms."
Asked about the sum of fund he expects to generate during the Paris meeting, Seniora refused to elaborate on the issue, KUNA said.
Seniora had presented a reform plan notably seeking to reduce Lebanon's public debt currently standing at 41 billion U.S. dollars, which accounts for approximately 180 percent of the country's GDP.
The prime minister reiterated his call to solve the political crisis through dialogue instead of demonstrations which he believed will lead to nowhere.
